Southbrook Park (Green Park)

What a busy morning!

We visited a new park - Southbrook Park (which we've later found out has been renamed Green Park) and spent some time climbing and swinging (but not sliding...apparently we were afraid of the slides this morning...) We visited the ear doctor and had a hearing test (which Suki passed with flying colors!)

Because we were at the doctor's so long, we ate a late snack at My Favorite Muffin where Suki sampled about 5 different mini-muffins (before deciding a chocolate cheesecake one was her favorite...what can I say, she has good taste!). Then we went back to Green Park and played some more. We even drank from a water fountain! Of course, we also were both completely soaked in the process, but who is really surprised by that?

We raced home for some lunch before Suki fell asleep standing up...and managed to chow down on chicken, corn and macaroni and cheese before she curled up and fell asleep!

What a morning...

Here are some of the parks we've found so far this summer...

Cooking with Papa

Yes, she has a chair called the cooking chair that she stands in to help Papa cook. She gets real mad if he does not share the ingredients with her. Also, she likes to try to eat the raw materials... frozen broccoli and rice in this meal.

But the big news of the day was REAL REAL big, no photo for that cuz, its a private event... but at 18 months, she indicated a need to go potty, got on the potty and by God she WENT! --we fainted shortly there after.

Toddler-Friendly Parks, Playgrounds & Activities (South Dayton Area) - Google Maps

As a parent with a toddler that loves to play, I've realized that there are few online resources in the Dayton area that collectively identify parks, playgrounds, play areas and activities for young children in the Dayton area. Given my love for technology-based solutions, I decided to try to develop a remedy for the lack of information by tracking all of the activities I've found and hope that other (yes, I'm talking to you - sitting there at your computer reading this...) similar-minded parents and interested persons will contribute to the collaborative effort to connect our children with fun activities that keep them entertained!

I hope to focus primarily on those activities and resources that are free or low-cost, but any suggestions or contributions are welcome! I've created a map in Google Maps that will allow you to pin-point the location of any suggestions you might have as well as find activities that are near to where you may be in the Greater Dayton region. Please use the link below to view and contribute to the map! If nothing else, I hope my suggestions and finds help you when you need the help the most!
